In a non-league match between the visiting Cumberland Gap Panthers and Union County Patriots, the Panthers won a nail biter with the help of the junior’s performance.

McDaniel scored the first points of the game for either team with an 85-yard return on the initial kickoff of the second half. The return by McDaniel came in his first ever high school football game.

With the help of Johnson’s performance, Coffee was able to keep Brunswick from avenging their loss last season, when the Trojans also won that matchup 30-13.

The team featured six running backs, one quarterback, one wide receiver, one cornerback and one linebacker, and was made up of seven seniors, one junior and two sophomores.

The 2017 Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week Team consists of eight winners from five high schools including Canadian High School, Hartshorne High School, McAlester High School, Savana High School and Wilburton High School. The team featured five quarterbacks, two running backs and a linebacker, and was made up of five seniors and three sophomores.

McAlester sophomore quarterback Chris Hilton was named Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week two times – after Week 9 and Week 10.

Vyve Broadband Salutes 11 Honorees From Two Area High Schools

It was a great year of high school football in Shawnee, and Vyve Broadband would like to salute all of this year’s Friday Night Vyve Players of the Week winners for outstanding performances throughout the season.

The 2017 Shawnee Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week Team consists of 11 winners from two high schools, Shawnee High School and Tecumseh High School. The team featured four quarterbacks, three wide receivers, one running back, two cornerbacks and one defensive end, and was made up of five seniors, four juniors and two sophomores.

Shawnee quarterback Heath Hunter was named Friday Night Vyve Player of the Week three times – after Week 6, Week 8 and Week 9, while teammates, wide receiver Scout Cawvey (Weeks 1 and 10) and cornerback Austin Wood (Weeks 3 and 7) were each named twice.
